27 Nov 2020 in ABAI SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH INSTITUTE at Al-FarabiKazNU  was held the international scientific and practical online conference “SPIRITUAL HERITAGE OF AL-FARABI AND ABAI: THEIR PLACE AND IMPORTANCE IN MODERN CIVILIZATION”, dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of al-Farabi and the 175th anniversary of AbaiKunanbayev.

The scientific meeting opened with an introductory speech by the Director of the Abai Scientific Research Institute, Doctor of Philology, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor ZHANGARA DADEBAYEVICH. Among the scientists from near and far abroad who spoke at the conference were Professor AbdyldazhanAkhmataliev (KYRGYZSTAN), Professor Nasreddin NAZAROV (UZBEKISTAN), Professor Orkhon SOYLEMEZ, Associate Professor AYAN EKREM (TURKEY). The conference was also attended by teachers of the Department of Kazakh language and literature of the Nukus State Pedagogical Instituten.a. Ajiniyaz in Karakalpakstan, teachers and students of the NavoiState Pedagogical Institute in Uzbekistan. Professor BaurzhanDzhakupov made a report on the encyclopedia “al-Farabi”, published in KazNU as part of the anniversary.Famous scientists like D. Iskakuly, T. Tebegenov, A. Isimakova, A. Espembetov, K. Madibay, A. Tarakov, A. Salkynbay and Professor of the L. Gumilyov ENU G. Muratova, Professor of the East Kazakhstan state University A. Kartayeva and others made scientific reports at the conference.During the meeting, a presentation of 1-50 volumes of the multi-volume serial publication “Abaeology. Selected works”, prepared by the Abai Scientific Research Institute and published by the “QazaqUniversiti” publishing house.The website of the Abai Scientific Research Institute (www.abai.kaznu.kz) was reviewed, as well as the video “Songs of Abai” and the electronic exhibition “Abai-175” were shown.After the plenary session of the conference, the online seminar of young Scientists-Abaeologists“SPIRITUAL HERITAGE OF AL-FARABI AND ABAI AS SEEN BY THE EYES OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS”continued.

The conference summed up the anniversary of the great thinkers and scientifically substantiated the meaning and relevance of the spiritual heritage of Al-Farabi and Abai in modern civilization.
